Antigua Los Volcanes is the best coffees of the region of Sacatepequez: Antigua, Alotenango, Ciudad Vieja and the area between the majestic volcanoes of Agua, Fuego and Acatenango. [Hence its name]
The area has a temperate climate. Average annual temperature is 22ºC with an annual rainfall of 1200 – 1500mm per year. Flowering starts in late April/early May then harvested from January through March.
Soil in the area naturally is of volcanic origin, very rich in minerals and elements that coffee needs. It is believed that this region and the valley used to be a lake, the remaining sediment creating deep and fertile soils.
Very drinkable after 3 days post roast, develops well thereafter.
Recommended minimum resting period (post the roast date): 2-5 days
